Mother Tongue and Other Tongues – Presenting the Work of MLPC at the Association of Jungian Analysts (AJA)
On Tuesday 7th May 2024, MLPC will be presenting its work at the Association of Jungian Analysts (AJA) in London. AJA is a leading training institution in analytical psychology, and our presentation at their London office is part of their Monthly Meeting lectures.
In his presentation, Cédric Bouët-Willaumez, member of the executive committee and a co-author of our 2021 book “Mother Tongue and Other Tongues: Narratives in Multilingual Psychotherapy”, will emphasise the importance of the living inquiry into the multilingual experience in the therapeutic relationship.
Cédric will also explore how psychoanalytic theories of language acquisition and multilingual psychotherapy could inform our work through creating narratives that enrich our understanding of the internal world of both therapist and the patient.
After Cédric’s presentation, there will be a 40-minute Q&A session, which will be an opportunity for a further exploration of the multilingual experience in psychotherapy.
